Mila 8 Carlton, Highgate Hill
Contractor: Jadecorp Property Group
Project: Mila 8 Carlton – Highgate Hill, Brisbane
Scope of works: Glass Pool Fence, Glass Balustrade, Aluminium Screen, Boundary Fence, Gates, Bin Store, Fire Pump, Fire Booster
Architect: HAL Architects
Mila 8 Carlton, a luxury development nestled in Highgate Hill, Queensland, boasts an enviable location close to the Brisbane CBD. This premium property offers not only breathtaking views and proximity to top schools but is a testament to the harmony of design and functionality. Aluminium Balustrades played an instrumental role in amplifying the elegance of this project. Tasked with enhancing the exteriors to echo the boutique interiors, Aluminium Balustrades rose to the challenge.
For the rooftop of Mila 8 Carlton, we installed a wrap-around glass pool fence, which allowed for panoramic views from the poolside and became a focal point for the development. This glass fence elegantly balances aesthetics with functionality, offering wind protection and low maintenance advantages.
Within the property, each apartment is adorned with our custom-fabricated glass balustrades, which seamlessly allow natural light while ensuring safety and adding a modern touch. Strategic aluminium screens were placed around the building to augment the design further and enhance privacy without compromising light or views. Moreover, these screens play a practical role in deterring pests.
We also crafted the boundary fence, ensuring it aligned with the building regulations and the project’s overarching design theme, providing a sophisticated yet unobtrusive barrier. Additionally, other critical components like gates, bin stores, and fire-related installations were entrusted to us, underscoring our commitment to quality, functionality, and aesthetics. With extensive experience spanning commercial and residential projects, Aluminium Balustrades remains a trusted partner for custom fabrication needs.

Project: Bundall Home Feature Façade
Scope of works: Feature Screen in Powder Coat Orange Made of Angle 100 x 50 x 3mm
Architect: The Buchan Group
The project situated in Bundall presented a challenging brief, as it required a complete redesign of the existing 12,122 m2 space, along with the construction of base builds and service works. The project also included the development of six new tenants within the original structure.
Although Tomkins were the primary contractor, the project’s central element, the building’s facade, required the expertise of our team at Aluminium Balustrades. The aim was to overhaul the building’s exterior completely, creating a visual impression that was reflective of the quality of the redevelopment
We were entrusted with the responsibility of manufacturing and installing a large feature screen that redefined the building’s exterior. The design, proposed by the client, called for a powder-coat orange screen facade made of 100 mm x 50 mm x 3mm angle aluminium. The resulting sleek, modern look aligned with the new owners’ branding, and held immense significance in the stunning outcome of the project.
In addition to the manufacturing and installation, we leveraged our in-house Southport Powder Coating company for the powder coating process. The 30-year-old establishment ensured impeccable execution of the job, culminating in a facade that perfectly mirrored the quality of the entire project.
The facade revamp we provided demonstrated a quick, affordable, and visually striking solution that fulfilled the client’s brief, and substantially transformed the building’s external appeal. The high-quality workmanship reflected not only on Aluminium Balustrades but also reputation of Tomkins as well.

Project: 272 Hedges Avenue, Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast
Scope of works: Glass Balustrade, Screens, Stainless Steel Grab Rails, Custom Pattern Metal Screen, Louvred Gates.
Architect: Contreras Earl Architecture.
Appointed by leading property developer Sunland Group, Aluminium Balustrades completed a stunning project in collaboration with Hutchison Builders and Contreras Earl Architecture. This transformative venture involved the creation of a visually stunning and structurally impressive 44-story high rise at 272 Hedges Avenue, adorning the skyline of Mermaid Beach, Gold Coast. The high rise, housing 97 exquisite two to four-bedroom apartments, changed the precinct’s landscape, converting it from a low-rise district to a high-rise hub reminiscent of Broadbeach. The beautiful architectural feat marked a significant chapter in our journey, signifying our capabilities to handle large-scale projects.
We had the honour of infusing our expertise into the project by crafting elegant glass balustrades and screens, stainless steel grab rails, custom pattern metal screen and louvred gates.
Working with esteemed partners on this landmark project was a rewarding experience. Seeing the actual structure tower majestically over the Gold Coast, beyond what pictures can capture, filled us with immense pride and satisfaction, having our name attached to such a remarkable accomplishment. This project was a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate our quality, dedication, and ability to transform visions into tangible reality.

Project: Mount View – Birds Road, Gold Coast.
Scope of works: Frameless Glass Balustrades/Pool, Racking Stair Frameless Glass, Service Area Louvre Panels, Batten Screening & Gates, Pump Enclosure, Entry Feature Panels Electric Slider Gates.
Architect: Clark & Granger (C&G).
Byrne Projects sought our expertise to give the home a sophisticated finish using our specialised services. The principal challenge was to offer safety around the infinity swimming pool and spa, without compromising the breathtaking view. Our solution was to install our specialised frameless glass pool fence around the patio. This offered an elegant, unobtrusive safety barrier that maximised space and maintained the stunning view of the country-side. All the balustrades are compliant with Australian Standards and National Construction Codes with a polished stainless steel nano top rail fitted to the glass.
We further enhanced the project’s aesthetic and functional value by providing multiple custom-made powder-coated aluminium products. These included service area louvre panels, batten screening and gates, pump enclosure, entry feature panels, and electric sliding gates.
The service area louvres were instrumental in enclosing air conditioning units, hot water systems, and pool equipment, screening them from the view and protecting them from the elements without hindering ventilation. The powder coat colour was carefully selected to seamlessly blend with the surrounding walls, minimising visual disruption.
Our batten screening and gates transformed unused areas into practical storage spaces. The installation of electric sliding gates, paired with feature panels, fortified security while offering a bold entrance to this grand property.

Our choice to use tempered glass for the balustrades allowed for an unobstructed view of the sea while being immune to rust and moisture damage – a crucial feature for a coastal location. We complemented this with powder-coated aluminium frames and brackets, which provide an appealing aesthetic and longevity in the corrosive seaside air.
Every single one of these meticulously crafted fittings and installations were expertly installed with the intention of enhancing both functionality and the visual appeal of the two villas, transforming them into something memorable.
The completion of the dual prize homes on the Gold Coast was not just another project for us, but a true testament to our dedication to delivering superior design and robust functionality. This was an opportunity to show the distinctive value we bring to any project.
