DID YOU KNOW
All commercial buildings of 4 stories or higher require warranty powder coat application as per AS3715.
Many of the kit form DIY style balustrade systems frequently used in today’s commercial projects require all components to be cut on site for installation and screwed together.
Unless all cut (raw edges) are treated then any warranty that would normally be associated and supplied by the Powder Suppliers and the licenced applicator would be invalid.
Aluminium Balustrades – Your One-Stop-Destination from Design Concept to Final Product Installation
All our powder coating is applied in-house by our powder coating company S.P.C. Southport Powder Coating.
All Powder Coating Aluminium Balustrade performed complies to AS3715.
As SPC and Aluminium Balustrades are located in the same premises we are able to provide the quick turnaround times that are always required in the construction industry.
SPC is fully accredited and licenced to apply Warranty Powder Coating by the two major supply companies: Dulux – Interpon.
For warranty applications each and every project needs to have application forms filled out and sent to the powder supplier before application commences. All QA requirements are forwarded with this application and test panels are run with each oven, tested and stored in our premises.
Our pre-treatment tanks are some of the largest in the industry and allows us to pre-treat many awkward shapes and sizes which are standard in the construction industry.
We employ an independent chemical company (Henkel) to carry out the testing of our Acid/Chromate/Water quality on a fortnightly basis.
This independent audit is then recorded and provided to us for our records.

Care & Maintenance of Powder Coated Surfaces
The effects of ultra violet light, pollution, dirt, grime and salt deposits can all accumulate on your powder coated surface over time. To extend the effective life of powder coatings, as a general rule cleaning should take place every 6 months. However, in areas where pollutants are more prevalent, especially in immediate coastal regions, a cleaning program should be carried out on a more frequent basis (i.e. every three months). -
Guide to cleaning your powder coated surface
- With a wet sponge, gently clear away loose deposits.
- Carefully scrub away dust, salt, and other accumulated solids with a cloth or non-abrasive, soft brush with a mild household detergent.
- Rinse with clean water
Avoid detergents that recommend wearing gloves when used. This may be because the detergent is harsh and thus not good for your powder coated surfaces. In some instances, strong solvents are recommended to remove strong residue such as sealants. These solvents may still damage the powder coating, immediately or later. It’s not always obvious, as some damages don’t show until 12 months after. For paint stains, splashes, sealants, and other similar mess, you can use Methylated Spirits, Turpentine, or White Spirits instead.
