MetalMaster Quality Guillotines are heavy-duty equipment for precision shearing of steel—from mild through to stainless. They are highly durable, with main frames designed to withstand extreme continuous loads and prevent distortion during the shearing process. They are manufactured from rolled, stress-relieved solid steel.
The commercial aluminium louvre blades exhibit high resistance to wear, corrosion, and impact, and have high tensile strength.
To facilitate more affordable pricing, value for money, and quicker ROI, these guillotines are produced in large volume production process, which means they are able to be manufactured cost-effectively.
All electrical parts are of European standards, supplied by Telemacanique. The USA Hydraulic control valve unit is supplied by Omega.
A Reliable Machine
Hydraulic guillotines are generally preferred when it comes to metal fabrication, which is why most modern guillotines are hydraulic rather than motorised.
These types of guillotines use a motor, a pump and a valve set to drive pistons, through pressurised hydraulic oil to create force. This allows the machine to have a significant amount of cutting power while remaining relatively energy efficient.
Pneumatic guillotines operate on very much the same principle.
The kind that we use could be described as the true descendant of the classic guillotine, notoriously used during the French Revolution. However, the modern version is used for far less nefarious purposes. The modern hydraulic variable rake guillotine uses the same principle as the classic guillotine of antiquity ‒ it cuts through metal of varying degrees of thickness by dropping a blade with force along a vertical track. Because this machine runs in gibs and slideways, it requires a degree of clearance space.
Why This Kind Of Guillotine?
There are various kinds of guillotines on the market today. The two main kinds used in metal fabrication applications are the swing beam type shears and the vertical rake.
Our guillotine services are carried out using a vertical rake hydraulic guillotine, which is excellent for shearing thin strips without causing twisting or bowing of the metal. This makes it an ideal option for cutting commercial aluminium louvre blades, for example.
This type of guillotine is great for achieving extremely high accuracy and reduced distortion.
