Frameless Balustrades for Ferns On The Brook
When a gorgeous, modern and luxurious new three- and four-bedroom luxury townhouse development went up in Nundah along the picturesque Kedron Brook, the developers knew they needed to call on Aluminium Balustrades to provide the much-needed finishing touches.
The Project
The townhouse project, named Ferns on the Brook, is located at 77 Walker Way in Nundah, Queensland. This brand-new residential development seeks to provide modern, spacious and airy homes for families of varying sizes at all stages of their lives.
Comprised of 30 units, there is sufficient variation in floor plans to accommodate a range of space requirements and budgets. Each unit is about 220 ft2, with balconies in the front and back, ensuring a generous view of the tranquil Kedron Brook, along with ample light and airflow.
The development was commissioned by the Dennis Family Corporation and designed by Ellivo Architects, known for their precision, uniquely modern aesthetic and attention to detail.
Construction began in 2021 and was carried out to completion by construction company PPS Commercial. However, when it came to providing the final façade and balustrades, only the best would do, which is why they asked the Aluminium Balustrades team to step in.
The Work We Did
At Aluminium Balustrades, our speciality is balustrades. On this project, we provided semi-frameless balustrades for the balconies.
These were chosen for their perfect balance between aesthetics and strength, providing an almost unfettered view of the gorgeous brook nearby without compromising safety. The tempered glass ensures unobstructed views, with the surrounding aluminium frame providing additional support.
These balustrades were side-mounted to create a cleaner aesthetic and maximise the space on the balcony.
The other crucial contribution that we made to this project was the screens. Not only are these screens important for privacy and light-control reasons, but they are also one of the primary exterior aesthetic features of the project.
Because the screens are the first feature anyone will notice about the development, the developers knew they needed the best in the business to deliver.
The powder-coated silver-grey aluminium screens we provided are made up of vertical louvres, providing a sleek look to complement the development’s modern architectural style. The screens afford privacy for occupants while subtly reflecting and deflecting light to ensure a comfortable balance inside each unit.
