Kalwun Health Service – Coomera Integrated Health and Wellbeing Hub
Previously, we showcased our recently completed project – Jacaranda Place, a health facility. Aluminium Balustrades is pleased to have also been part of another health facility and Kalwun’s largest-ever project – the Coomera Integrated Health and Wellbeing Hub.
Coomera has the fastest growth rate of the Indigenous population in Australia. The opening of this new facility greatly supports the rapidly increasing need for services in the local community. The Wellbeing Hub boasts an office space of more than 1,000m2 and is set to provide a broad range of professional medical services to Indigenous and non-Indigenous patients on the northern Gold Coast.
Aluminium Balustrades partnered with Australia’s largest privately-owned construction company Hutchinson Builders, and community-focused architects Vabasis to fabricate and install aluminium features for this project.

One key feature that Aluminium Balustrades was able to provide involved the use of our state-of-the-art Flow Mach Waterjet Cutter system. Waterjet cutting is a versatile fabrication method that allows the production of clean, exact and precise cutting. There are significant benefits, including:
- Minimal kurf for maximum usage of material
- Minimal post cutting clean up
- Cutting multiple sheets at the same time
- Raster to vector – creating patterns from a high-resolution image or photo using software
Having the Flow Mach 2b Waterjet Cutter onsite at Aluminium Balustrades enabled us to directly manufacture and fabricate components for the aluminium custom screen designs for this project. Thus, saving time and costs as opposed to engaging the services of other contractors.
In addition, Aluminium Balustrades manufactured and installed gates for the hydrant boosters, as well as louvre vents with mesh throughout the facility.
Here at Aluminium Balustrades, we are committed to delivering an extensive range of balustrading systems through innovative design and fabrication with the implementation of the latest technology, such as installing the Flow Mach Waterjet cutting system in-house.
