Jacaranda Place is part of the $68.23 million directed towards capital works for the Queensland Government Youth Mental Health Program, which identified the need for a new treatment and rehabilitation facility for adolescences.
Aluminum Balustrades is proud to be part of this significant project and contributing to the path of recovery for Jacaranda Place’s residents. Partnering with one of the most established Australian construction companies ADCO, and award-winning design architects DWP, the features of Jacaranda Place were configured and incorporated meticulously into the contemporary design.
Aluminium Balustrades installation of the Timber-look Façade provides a natural aesthetic while creating an environment of warmth, complementing to the delivery of a therapeutic and healing environment for this facility.
As the Jacaranda is a hardy tree that can grow in difficult conditions thus reflecting strength and resilience, as noted by Children’s Health Queensland Chief Executive Frank Tracey, the timber-look element also connects symbolically to the name of the centre.
Unlike actual timber features, woodlike aluminium requires little maintenance and is more sustainable, stronger, and more durable. Although the product is lightweight, it can withstand harsh external conditions and outdoor weather elements. As an aluminium product, the feature will not be susceptible to termite attack. It will not require painting or staining due to the powder-coated finish being scratch and peel resistant.
In addition, Aluminium Balustrades installed the powder-coated arbour adding a touch of sophistication in line with the modern design of the structure. Powder-coating is a long-lasting, visually appealing finish which enhances the supportive environment of the centre design.
